ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Hello! I'm Briony, Director of Curious Minds Tuition and Education Consultants

Educated at Clifton College, Edinburgh and later Bristol University, a volunteer placement in Senegal teaching street children helped me realise my passion for working with children in education. I completed my PGCE soon after and spent six years teaching History of Art and MFL at one of London’s top co-ed independent schools. Here, I was involved in part of the broader admissions team, interviewing 11+ and 16+ applicants and gaining valuable insight into what schools seek. During this time I began providing one-to-one private tuition to London-based families.

I am Principal Examiner for Art History Pre-U examinations and Associate Examiner for AQA and Edexcel GCSE MFL speaking assessments, which enables me to offer realistic, informed GCSE mock preparation sessions.

In 2016, I moved to Maidenhead where, alongside teaching MFL in an outstanding primary and later, a diverse, all-boys comprehensive school, I worked for a successful 11+ tuition company.

Here I gained further invaluable insight into the academic rigours of the highly competitive Grammar and Independent schools entrance exams.

In 2021, I relocated to Portishead and left the classroom to establish myself as an

independent, full-time tutor and education consultant, creating Curious Minds Education UK.
